✿ Welcome to Bandyland ✿
Greetings! I’m Bandy, I like to fancy myself as a contemporary artist and modern day visionary, based out of wherever I’m stationed at while you’re reading this. (Currently: SoCal)
I'm from Inkster, MI. and I'm currently serving in the United States Navy. I like to utilize my spare time to accomplish my simple life’s mission: “Create freely with LOVE!” I'm inspired by my family, friends, travels and the ability to use my art and characters, Rarie Panther and Saki Love Blossom to connect with others, inspire, spread love, and awareness.
I’m a self taught artist and have been creating for as long as I can remember, with professional work dating back over a decade. I'm currently building Bandyland and I'm excited to have you along for the journey!
Meet Rarie and Saki
The Stars of the Show!
Rarie Panther, a Black Panther discovered by me, in Bandyland is the current star of the show. He was introduced wearing a skull mask gifted to him by Saki Love Blossom, which has become a staple piece of our brand.
The Black Panther is a part of the animal class Panthera and symbolism dates back to both ancient Africa, Greece and more. The Greek word for panther translated to “all-beast” and referred to as “The All.” That is exactly what I intended Rarie to represent, EVERYONE! The Black Panther is said to be a natural born leaders, known and loved by all animals. In Africa, the panther is known to represent royalty and power. It is also RARE… an endangered species, protected by the civilization and thought of as a guardian angel. Hence the NFT Collection and Community, Rare Panthers. In most recent times the Black Panther is known to aid in revolution, bring change and renew old systems. This is exactly what the Rare Panther Party will do in the current space.
Rarie is the brand mascot and my goal is to make him one of the most recognizable fictional characters in Pop Culture history.
Saki Love Blossom was actually the first character I created of the two. I created Saki first, because well… flowers seem to always be one of the easiest things to draw and I was still deciding on what I wanted Rarie to be. I began drafting sketches of her and trying to figure out the centerpiece and landed on a skull.
Saki Love Blossom represents embracing life and death, growing together, and individuality as we learn, adapt, and grow daily. Inspired by my time in Japan and the Japanese Cherry Blossom, Saki easily wins over everyone with her inviting-colored petals and cute skull pistil. In Japan, cherry blossoms are called sakura, a special flower for the people and the country. Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. Although their life span is very short, they bring great joy to the lives of everyone that encounters them and that’s exactly what I want to accomplish with Saki Love Blossom.
